MUSIC, ART & CUISINE

San Francisco has a long and storied musical history, from the famed jazz district in the Fillmore, to the musical movement that spawned the Summer of Love. At this years’ Gala we will celebrate San Francisco’s musical heritage by highlighting local artists in our entertainment line-up, and including tickets to local music venues in our Auction and Raffle packages.

Artists flock to San Francisco to express their talents and display their work at our world class galleries. The City by the Bay has long been known as a beacon for creatives. Galleries across the City offer an array of works by local artists. At the 2023 Gala we will display artwork from San Francisco art galleries. Some of these pieces will be available for purchase.

Our City is renowned as a global culinary hub. We are home to cultural destinations such as The Mission, North Beach, Chinatown, and Japantown. There are many more cuisines to discover and enjoy in neighborhoods across the City. At the Gala we will be placing our local culinary community on a pedestal by offering global foods from select SF eateries.
OUR EMCEES

CREAM
San Francisco-based artist Brandon Rios creatively works out of his home studio in Russian Hill. While investing over twenty years in visual and creative work, Brandon began the art of drag and performing in early 2017.
With his expressive eye for detail and big dreams, Brandon learned how to do makeup, style hair, and sew to create the strange and unique looks for his drag persona CREAM.
If you can dream it, Cream can Queen it. Arguably one of the Bay Area's most versatile and creative performers, Cream’s looks are always provocative and impeccably styled. With her natural humor and undeniable charm, you’ll be left Screaming… “YAAASS CREAM.”
DONNA SACHET
Nearly 30 years ago, Donna Sachet started her adventure in San Francisco and the City has applauded her fun-loving spirit, quick wit, and musical talent ever since. She became Miss Gay SF in 1993 and the 30th elected Empress of SF in 1995. Donna can be seen throughout the Community, performing, judging contests, emceeing fund-raisers, producing events, cutting ribbons, and hosting parties.
Donna currently writes a bi-weekly column, Donna’s Chronicles, for the SF Bay Times, is president of the Rainbow Honor Walk, and serves on the Advisory Board of PRC.

Our goal is to fuse and confuse musical stereotypes and create something fresh. Georges Lammam’s Middle-eastern quarter-tone infused violin couples with Freddy Clarke’s flamenco/classical. Inspired guitar and Erick Peralta’s jazzy poly-tonal piano modes form a new and exciting blend. Cuban bassist Ernesto Mazar and New York’s drummer extraordinaire Colin Douglas fill out the inspiring rhythm section.

OUR HOST VENUE

THE GREEN ROOM
The San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center (SFWMPAC) is located in San Francisco, California. It is one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States. It covers 7.5 acres (3 hectares) in the Civic Center Historic District, and totals 7,500 seats among its venues.
The complex was developed in the 1920s on two blocks on Van Ness Avenue facing San Francisco City Hall from the west. The "War Memorial" name commemorates all the people who served in the First World War, which ended seven years before the project commenced. It was designed by Arthur Brown Jr in 1927-1928, and is one of the last Beaux-Arts style structures erected in the United States. The project resulted in the construction of a matched pair of buildings across a formal courtyard park: the War Memorial Opera House; and the multi-purpose Veterans Building next door. Both were completed and opened in 1932.
