SFCDMA Mission:


To support and promote the collective interests and economic vitality of the independent neighborhood merchant associations and their business members within the City and County of San Francisco.



To support day-to-day operation of a non-profit membership organization.


Reports To:


President and Executive Board.

Employment Status:


Independent Contractor.

Work Schedule:


On average, 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Flexibility for tasks that can be completed outside regular business hours.


$30.00 / hr (approx. $2,500 / month), paid weekly upon receipt of timesheet.


1. Administrative Support


Maintain and publish calendar of events, including council meetings, important city government meetings (legislative digest), neighborhood merchant events, etc. Maintain schedule of important compliance and filing requirements (taxes, fees, registrations, etc.).

Internet infrastructure:


Monitor functionality of website and social media accounts.


Serve as one point of contact for inquiries.

Record Keeping:


Maintain organizational files, documents, records, permits, directors insurance, sponsor agreements, etc. Maintain Policy Book and Bylaws document.

Database Management:

Maintain donor, sponsor and member databases. Assist the accountant with bookkeeping and financial reporting, bank deposits and other duties as required.

Committee Support:

Attend committee meetings as requested and maintain committee records, such as meeting minutes.

2. Communications


Assist with preparation and distribution of Member communications. Oversee annual membership dues collections.

Sponsor Communications:


Assist with preparation and distribution of fund raising appeals and thank you letters. Manage sponsor payment schedules.
Maintain relationships with Community Partners. Oversee website updates and curate website content.

3. Special Events

Assist with organization and execution of CDMA events, including: Annual Gala (April), Small Business Week (May), Small Business Saturday (November), Networking Events (4 per year). Organize attendance at community events.

4. Business Development

Assist executive staff with business development activities, as requested. Assist in development of ambassadors.

5. Outreach and Soliciting Sponsors


On call for representation at association meetings and events. Outreach to corporations for workshops eg. the recent Facebook workshop with over one hundred guests. Soliciting sponsorships from corporations. Assist in creating a scholarship for small business.
